Forklift Anti-Collision & Pedestrian Detection Systems in the UAE
Safeguard 360 fits AI cameras and on-truck detection to your forklifts so operators see every pedestrian and obstacle — and, paired with a speed governor, the truck slows itself in the danger zone. Supplied, installed and supported across all seven emirates.
A forklift anti-collision system is a set of AI cameras and sensors fitted to a forklift that detect pedestrians and obstacles around the truck in real time and warn the operator — and often the pedestrian — before a collision. Advanced systems, like HYLIFT Safeguard 360, can also slow the truck automatically in high-risk zones.

Why forklift anti-collision matters
Most serious forklift incidents involve a person on foot — and most of those come down to one thing the operator never saw coming: a blind spot.
A forklift's mast, load and body block huge arcs of the driver's view, especially reversing or turning at the end of an aisle. In a busy UAE distribution centre, port or factory where trucks and people share the same floor all shift, that hidden ground is where near-misses happen. Safeguard 360 gives the truck a set of eyes the driver doesn't have: AI cameras that watch every side of the forklift and pick out a person the instant they enter the danger zone, then warn the operator in time to stop. Where you also run speed governors, the two work as one system — the cameras see the risk and the truck slows itself.
The Safeguard 360 components
A complete, retrofit package — supplied, fitted and supported by one UAE-licensed team.
360° AI cameras
A set of cameras — typically front, both sides and rear — gives the operator a complete bird's-eye view around the truck, killing the blind spots that cause most forklift-pedestrian incidents.
On-truck AI detection unit
Edge-inference hardware processes the camera feeds on the forklift itself, recognising people, pallets and other trucks in real time — no cloud round-trip, no lag.
In-cab monitor
A clear, waterproof display shows the live view and highlights a detected person with an on-screen box, so the driver sees the risk before it becomes a near-miss.
Audible & visual alerts
When a pedestrian enters the danger zone, the system warns the operator with an alarm and on-screen alert — and, where fitted, warns the pedestrian too.
Zone speed enforcement
Paired with a speed governor, Safeguard 360 can automatically slow the truck in defined pedestrian zones, doorways and blind corners, then release it when the area is clear.
Telematics & event logging
Detections, near-misses and speed events are logged, giving your HSE team the data to prove compliance and target the riskiest areas.
Detect, warn, and slow down
Cameras mounted around the forklift feed a live view to an on-truck AI unit that processes everything on the vehicle itself — edge inference, so there's no network delay. The AI is trained to recognise the human form, so it separates a real person from racking, pallets and parked trucks, which keeps false alarms low and operator trust high. When someone enters a defined danger zone, the operator gets an instant on-screen box and an audible alarm; where a pedestrian-side warning is fitted, the person on foot is alerted too.
Because detection and speed control share the same goal, Safeguard 360 integrates with aforklift speed limiter: in a marked pedestrian zone, doorway or blind corner, the truck can automatically drop to a safe creep speed and release once the area is clear. Every detection and speed event is logged, giving your HSE team hard data on where the risks really are.
They solve different halves of the same problem and work best together. A speed limiter caps how fast a forklift can travel; Safeguard 360 detects people and obstacles and warns the operator. Combined, the cameras see the risk and the governor slows the truck. HYLIFT supplies and installs both, and can scope them together on one survey.

A visible, auditable safety control
UAE employers must provide a safe system of work under MOHRE and emirate-level HSE requirements, and separating forklifts from people on foot is one of the hardest parts of that duty to prove. Cameras, alerts and logged events turn "we tell drivers to be careful" into a documented, engineered control you can show an auditor, an insurer or a major customer. Fitting Safeguard 360 signals to your own team, too, that the business takes the forklift-pedestrian risk seriously — which is often where a safety culture starts.

Forklift anti-collision questions, answered
What is a forklift anti-collision system?
A forklift anti-collision system is a set of AI cameras and sensors fitted to a forklift that detect pedestrians and obstacles around the truck in real time and warn the operator — and often the pedestrian — before a collision. Advanced systems can also slow the truck automatically in high-risk zones.
How does forklift pedestrian detection work?
Cameras cover the area around the forklift and an on-truck AI unit analyses the feed, using computer vision to recognise the human form. When a person enters a defined danger zone, the system triggers a visual and audible alert, and can reduce the truck's speed if a speed governor is integrated.
Does Safeguard 360 stop the forklift automatically?
Safeguard 360 warns the operator instantly and, when paired with a speed limiter, automatically reduces the truck's travel speed in pedestrian zones. Whether it slows or simply alerts depends on the configuration we agree for your site — the operator always keeps steering and control.
Can it be fitted to any forklift brand?
Yes. Safeguard 360 retrofits to electric, diesel and LPG forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers and tow tractors from all major brands including Toyota, Linde, Crown, Hyster, Still, Jungheinrich, Doosan and EP.
Does it work in low light or at night?
Yes. The cameras and detection are built for real warehouse conditions, including low light and mixed lighting, so protection continues across night shifts.
Will it cause false alarms?
Because detection is AI-based and tuned to recognise the human form, it filters out racking, pallets and fixed objects far better than simple proximity sensors — which keeps false alarms low so operators keep trusting the system.
How is Safeguard 360 different from a speed limiter?
A speed limiter caps how fast a forklift can travel; Safeguard 360 detects people and obstacles and warns the operator. They work best together — the cameras see the risk and the governor slows the truck. HYLIFT supplies and installs both.
Do you install across the UAE?
Yes — all seven emirates. Same-day response in Dubai and fast scheduled response elsewhere.
How much does a forklift anti-collision system cost in the UAE?
It depends on the number of trucks, cameras per truck and whether speed enforcement is included. We provide a clear quote after a free site survey — no obligation.
Do you maintain the system after installation?
Yes. Cameras need periodic cleaning, alignment and checks to stay accurate, and this can be rolled into a forklift AMC so your whole fleet is covered on one schedule.
